Creating & Joining Game Rooms

From the lobby you have the option of joining an existing game room or to create a new one yourself. If you are new to Blockwars it is recommended that you join an existing room first.

Joining an Existing Room
By default the list display on the right of the Blockwars window will display a list of currently active game rooms and their status. You can join and games listed as Open or Playing. You may not join any Closed rooms.

An Open room is a room in which people are assembled but are not actively playing. Joining an Open room will allow you to play as soon as the Room Administrator decides to start the game.

A room marked Playing is one in which the members are currently engaged in a game against one another. If you join a room that is Playing you will be able to chat with any of the rooms' members but will not be able to join in play until the next game starts. You can, however, watch what other players are doing by clicking on the names listed in the scoreboard.

To join a room click on the name of the room you wish to join.

Creating a New Room
When you create a new room you add your room to the list of available rooms on the server and other players can join in. You also become the Room Administrator which gives you control over when the game starts, whether your room is Open or Closed to players, and to kick out individual users who are misbehaving. Use the Kick feature sparingly and follow the wishes of your room members or you might find yourself playing alone.

To create a new room click on the Start a New Game button on the Lobby screen and give your room a name.

Offensive or inappropriate game/user names may lead to having your IP block banned.
