Chat Commands

Chat commands are commands that affect the way chat messages are handled within Blockwars. They are accessed by entering a "/" (forward slash) preceding the command name. These commands are entered directly into the outgoing chat message box (the same box you would use to send a regular chat message).

The following chat commands are available:

/help - Lists these commands
Entering /help in the outgoing chat message box will display a brief summary of these commands.

/me
- Chat Action
Used to display your login name without the normal colon at the end.
For example, if your name was Bob and you entered:
     /me says hello to everyone
the message that would be sent to everyone would be:
     Bob says hello to everyone

/msg userName
- Send a private message
Lets you send a private message to a specific person. This message can be sent regardless of what room you and the recipient are currently in.
For example, if your name was Bob and you wanted to send a private message to Doug:
/msg Doug So this is a private message, eh?
The message would be sent only to Doug and would not be visible to any other users.

/who ~roomName
- Displays room members
Displays a list of all users currently within the specified room.
All valid room names begin with the tilde ("~") character.
Example:
     /who ~MacenziesRoom
Would display in the chat window a list of all the people currently in MacenziesRoom.

Ignore Functions: all user names are CaSe SeNsItIvE when using ignore commands.

/ignore userName - Ignores the specified user
Used to prevent messages from a particular user from being displayed on your screen. This is one strategy for dealing with irritating or offensive users.
Note: ignoring a user will prevent you from receiving any messages from them, including game related alerts. Additionally, should a user who is on your ignore list attempt to send you a private message they will receive notice that you are ignoring them.
Example, to stop receiving any further messages from Jack:
     /ignore Jack

/unIgnore userName
- Removes the specified user from your ignore list
This will allow you to again receive messages from a user you had previously ignored.
     /unIngore Jack

/clearIgnores
- Removes all users from your ignore list
Clears out any and names on your ignore list. You will be able to hear everybody.
     /clearIgnores
